Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master the talented storyteller has kept viewers on edge with extensive world-building, a diverse cast of heroes, and a exciting storyline including angels, fiends, and malevolent powers growing in influence within Dol-Makjar.
Warning: Spoilers for the latest installment of the new season lie ahead.
The Combat-Oriented Party Revealed
The third episode finished on a huge suspense moment and presented the initial group of characters who will split off from the main group to begin their own adventure, distinct from the remaining groups.
The Soldiers table features Teor Pridesire (played by the voice actor), Thimble (the talented performer), the fierce warrior (the cast member), the cleric (Sam), and Kattigan (Robbie).
Dividing the Cast
Given an extensive roster, it was obvious from the start that maintaining everyone at the same party would be unworkable.
This explains, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, connecting the personal journeys before dividing into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Strategists, and Questers.
Characteristics of the Combat Party
As described by the Dungeon Master, the warrior group is for adventurers who enjoy a traditionally charged fight-heavy story mode where diplomatic options are scarce.
At first glance, characters like the reluctant priest Wicander Halovar might appear unsuited, but the developments of the latest installment make it clear why these specific adventurers are best suited for the warrior group.
Reasons to Leave
For one thing, the group understands precisely where to proceed after a brutal opening clash with the antagonists.
An old friend of Thjazi Fang—whose passing started the narrative’s action—exploited the foes for his selfish purposes, breaking into the secret base, assaulting the rogue, and swiping all the enchanted items to dispose of.
The traitor then settled his obligations and fled to a fortified location in the remote area, north of the city, with Cyd pursuing him.
Character Drivers
Secondly, each adventurer has a personal reason to exit Dol-Makjar:
- The rogue, as Thjazi’s partner and closest confidant, wants vengeance.
- The adventurer is familiar with the region and advises that it is a hostile place.
- The warrior and The healer, having resisted his relatives’ demands to execute Teor and instead rescued him, have no other options.
- But, their reputation as key figures in House Halovar could help the party reach locations they usually can’t.
- Furthermore, Teor swore a eternal obligation to The cleric for his salvation and will now follow him wherever.
Pursued by Authorities
Lastly, all of them are sought by the powers that govern the setting for a range of causes, making lingering locally too risky:
- The rogue and The hero are known criminals.
- Tyranny and Wicander defied the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are aligned with.
- The target is targeted for elimination by the clan.
This means them no alternative but to journey toward the northern region in pursuit of Casimir.
What’s Next?
According to the recent installment’s post-show segment, we learn that the Soldiers table will be absent next week, leaving the rest of the cast members to round up the Seekers and Schemers tables.
Fans can expect discovering which players will be assigned to which table in Campaign 4’s final introductory chapter, streaming live on October 24.
